Repairing Dental Implants
Implant Replacement
If the implant is loose or badly damaged, the only option may be to replace it. This simply involves removing the loose or damaged implant and replacing it with a new one.
Bone Grafting
Bone grafting may be necessary to rebuild the bone structure, if bone loss has occurred around the implant. This grafting will help to provide a more stable foundation for the implant.
Soft Tissue Grafting
If the gum near the implant has receded, a soft tissue graft may be needed to restore the tissue and provide better support for the implant.
Tightening
the Implant
If the screw that holds the implant in place has become loose, it may be possible to restore stability by simply tightening it.
Antibiotics
Antibiotics, if an infection is present, may be prescribed to help fight the infection and prevent further damage to the implant.
